Mr. Glazer was inspired to enter the legal industry by his father. His father, a CPA, specialized in tax law and always wanted to attend law school, but was unable to due to economic reasons. Mr. Glazer always had it in his blood to go to law school and realized that tax was an area he wanted to focus on. He gravitated to real estate tax early in his career. Mr. Glazer has been practicing law for 44 years and has become an award-winning attorney.

He has extensive experience in real estate taxation, with a special expertise in real estate capital market transactions involving REITs (real estate investment trusts). Mr. Glazer is also recognized for his knowledge and experience in handling transactions for publicly and privately traded real estate companies, providers of real estate capital, mergers and acquisitions, partnership transactions, and like-kind exchanges. In his role, he is responsible for advising clients in structuring collective investment vehicles, structuring real estate securitizations, forming and operating public and private REITs, and forming real estate funds. Mr. Glazer focuses principally on structuring and implementing tax-oriented commercial transactions of all types, including real estate and venture capital transactions, mergers and acquisitions, pension investments in real estate involving issues of unrelated business taxable income, leveraged financings, and workout and debt restructurings.

Mr. Glazer has been a frequent panelist on tax panels at NAREIT’s annual law and accounting conferences, as well as at other conferences. He is always open to new opportunities that arise within the industry. For example, he is presently advising the first ever public REIT focused on the gaming industry in structuring its acquisitions. Mr. Glazer is an AV Preeminent Attorney, who is also a Top Rated Lawyer in Boston through Martindale-Hubbell.
