Judge Voisin has 37 years of overall experience, with 11 years as an administrative law judge of the Office of Disability Adjudication and Review for the Social Security Administration. As an experienced professional in the area of Social Security disability law, he is responsible for conducting formal hearings involving cases where all interested parties are given advance notice of the hearing and an opportunity to submit facts, arguments, offers of settlement or proposals of adjustment. Additionally, he rules on preliminary motions, conducts pre-hearing conferences and issues subpoenas, while handling oral and documentary evidence.
Looking back, Judge Voisin attributes his success to his faith, his family, his friends, his community, his country and his profession. His priorities in life have always been God, family, community, country and profession. He is a firm believer in service above self. He became involved in his profession because of his interest in the law. The highlights that stood out the most in his career were being commissioned a Marine Corps Officer and being appointed as a federal administrative law judge, and the related leadership positions associated with those offices.
Judge Voisin received a JD from Tulane University School of Law in 1977, having graduated from Nicholls State University in 1970. He has been admitted to practice by the Louisiana State Bar Association, the United States Supreme Court, the United States Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit, the United States District Court of the Eastern District of Louisiana, and the United States Court of Military Appeals. In years to come, Judge Voisin plans to either continue serving as a federal administrative law judge in regular status or in senior status or retire to teach, travel and spend more time with his family and friends.
