For 30 years, Mr. Petersen has met with success in the field of law for his focus and expertise in commercial litigation, biotechnology, entertainment and employment law. With a work history as nuclear engineer in the US Navy, he brings a unique perspective to his cases and the discipline to give each individual case the care and attention it deserves. Mr. Petersen has also developed a growing mediation practice. He serves as a mediator for the Northern District of California, the Bar Association of San Francisco’s Early Settlement Program and as a Judge Pro Tem in San Francisco for mediation of cases about to go to trial. In his career, Mr. Petersen has settled nearly 50 cases as a mediator.

Mr. Petersen earned his JD prior to establishing his tenure. To support his career, he completed the American Arbitration Association’s Mediator Training and Arbitrator programs, along with the Bar Association of San Francisco’s mediation and advocacy skills training. Committed to his profession, Mr. Petersen is also an active member of the Association for Conflict Resolution and he serves as the chair of the Bar Association of San Francisco’s Mediation Committee.
