Chicago, IL, July 21, 2015, Michael O. Warnecke, Partner, Co-Chair of the Patent Litigation Group at Perkins Coie LLP, has been recognized by Elite American Lawyers for dedication, achievement and leadership in litigation.
Mr. Warnecke began his career working as a patent examiner while obtaining an engineering degree from Purdue. He then returned to law school and earned his JD. Mr. Warnecke has been a practicing attorney for 48 years and focuses on handling cases that involve intellectual property, trademark and patent law.
Throughout his career, Mr. Warnecke worked for big law firms where he took on major patent litigation cases. He has litigated cases involving international patent, technology licensing and other intellectual property matters, and has garnered a reputation for his work in the field. Mr. Warnecke has been able to obtain damages for his clients, including a $30 million jury award for the Riddell v. Schutt case, which was the largest in Wisconsin history for a patent case, and one of the most important cases of his career.
Mr. Warnecke has received ample recognition for his contributions to the legal field. He has been named as one of the Best Lawyers in America in Intellectual Property and Patent Litigation, Patent Law and Trademark Law, Top Ten Illinois Super Lawyers, and one of “America’s Leading Business Lawyers.” An AV Preeminent attorney, he attributes his success to his dedication and hard work. He would like to become a mentor to some of the younger attorneys and integrate them with his clients.
