Dallas, TX, March 26, 2015, Mary Jo McCurley, Attorney at VernerBrumleyMcCurley, has been recognized by Elite American Lawyers for dedication, achievement and leadership in family law.
Ms. McCurley was inspired to pursue a career in the legal industry because she enjoyed arguing and helping others. Her mother said that as a child she would argue with a fence post, possibly an influence from watching Perry Mason. Ms. McCurley has been practicing law for 36 years and has garnered a reputation as a well-respected family law attorney.
Ms. McCurley spends her days overseeing all matrimonial issues, including asset tracing, family-owned business entities and corporate involvement, interspousal torts, and family psychological issues related to divorce and custody, including interactions with experts. Board certified in family law, Ms. McCurley works with a diverse group of clients that is looking for an attorney that will listen to their needs and meet their expectations. Ms. McCurley is an AV Preeminent Attorney who was named to Texas Super Lawyers by Thomson Reuters, Top 50 Women Super Lawyers in Texas by Texas Monthly, Top 100 Attorneys in Texas, Top 100 Attorneys in the Dallas/Fort Worth Region, Top 50 Women Attorneys In Texas, and Top Women Lawyers in North Texas by D Magazine.
Aside from her work at the firm, Ms. McCurley is certified as a life coach by the College of Executive Coaching and recently co-authored, along with four other experts in women’s health and wellness, “A Happy Healthy You: A Woman’s Guide to Happiness, Health & Harmony.” The book offers advice and counsel on nutrition, exercise, menopause, spirituality, relationships, and other wellness issues for women in the second half of their lives. She attributes her success to the fact that she has been very fortunate to have a great team of lawyers to work with and caring about their clients in a concierge type way; their firm has gotten back to that. In the future, Ms. McCurley would like to continue to give the high quality service that they do now, and train and mentor new attorneys to provide the same great quality service.
