Mr. Houck won a scholarship to attend the University of San Diego’s prestigious Law School in 1989, and he was also active in the U.S. Navy from 1975 to 1979. He became involved in his profession because he was in a used book store one day, picked up a book on court reporting, and started reading about case law.
