TOLEDO, OH, November 12, 2013, Pamela A. Borgess, Partner at Zoll, Kranz & Borgess, LLC, has been recognized by Elite American Lawyers for dedication, achievements and leadership in litigation and legal services.

Ms. Borgess has been practicing law for 13 years and has been in her current position as partner since January 1, 2008. She specializes in medicolegal issues, including, but not limited to, understanding and simplifying complex mechanisms of injury and successfully establishing generic and case-specific causation in mass torts. Ms. Borgess practices in pharmaceutical and medical device litigation, as well as other class actions lawsuits and personal injury and wrongful death cases. Her experience has involved many disciplines, including pharmacology, pathology, epidemiology, immunology and biochemistry, as well as all aspects of litigation, including from the early stages of data collection and review, to depositions, Daubert briefing/hearings, trial and mass tort settlements.

Ms. Borgess entered the industry due to her interest in public service and her desire to serve the medical and legal fields. She believes it is her duty, and an honor, to be the voice for those who have been silenced. She fights for the powerless and ensures the American dream of “justice for all” is not extinguished by powerful corporations dominating the political process. For her and the firm’s exceptional work, Zoll, Kranz & Borgess, LLC, has received national recognition for their part in working on mass torts and has been awarded top leadership positions by various Courts.  For example, Ms. Borgess received national attention when she was the first to file suit regarding the tainted drug, heparin, which was manufactured by the U.S. drug company at an uninspected facility in China and took the lives of hundreds of innocent Americans in late 2007 and early 2008. In April of 2008, she was honored to have three of her clients speak before Congress at an investigational hearing entitled, “The Heparin Disaster: Chinese Counterfeits and American Failures.”  Their stories have been featured in various news media, including, but not limited to, ABC Nightly News, Nightline, Time Magazine, CNN and Bloomberg News.

Reveling in the opportunity to help improve medical drug and device safety and efficacy, Ms. Borgess attributes her success to her drive to help her clients and her desire to ensure that proper warnings are presented on medical packaging materials and advertisements so patients and their healthcare providers receive full and unbiased information about the risks of a medical drug or device.
