With over 35 years experience in litigation, Mr. Sawaya started The Sawaya Law Firm in 1977. A veteran of the courtroom, he has tried more than 75 jury trials to conclusion and has been involved in hundreds of litigated matters resulting in court filings and procedures. He is a frequent speaker at continuing legal education seminars and is considered an authority on personal injury and insurance law in Colorado. He started his firm with one partner, and it has grown to a firm of 16 lawyers with a support staff of 83 experienced paraprofessionals. Having always excelled at injury cases, he decided to limit his practice to injury cases and related insurance issues in 1989. He continues to study and teach advanced trial techniques and other legal topics in his field as a lecturer for continuing legal education seminars.

The Sawaya Law Firm, also known as Sawaya, Rose & Kaplan, P.C., is actively involved in the public education of injury law and the legal concerns of veterans. The firm is in the process of establishing a charitable foundation to provide services to the community. They have conducted extensive public education for drivers’ safety, including the Smart Driver Colorado, a program to pay the cab fare for those who have had too much to drink. Mr. Sawaya founded The Observant Press, a publishing company to give back to others what has generously been given to him. He has devoted his career to helping others and appreciates the interpersonal relationships he has been able to develop through the years.

Attributing his success in the law industry to his sense of humor and his passion for the legal system, Mr. Sawaya chose to follow a career in law because of his genuine interest in communication and enjoyment in serving as a master of ceremonies. Mr. Sawaya is a graduate of Texas Tech University School of Law where he graduated Summa Cum Laude with a Juris Doctorate (JD) in 1975. He also holds a Bachelor of Arts in sociology from Colorado College and a Bachelor of Arts in economics from the University of Colorado in Denver. He is certified as a master practitioner in neuro-linguistic programming. Mr. Sawaya has been honored as an AV Rated Lawyer by Martindale-Hubbell and is a recipient of The Order of the Coif.
