As a partner of the Curran Law Firm, a position that he has held for over 40 years, Melvin L. Kleweno, Jr. is responsible for delivering legal services, solving problems, and interacting with individuals, clients, corporations and state administration to draw up contracts. Prior to joining the Curran Law Firm, Mr. Kleweno served as a Colonel in the Air Force Reserve from 1963 until 1987, and in the United States Air Force from 1960 until 1963. He became involved in his profession because of his interest in the law field, and he attributes his success to his hard work and honesty. At the youthful age of 75, Mr. Kleweno’s vast accomplishments over his career provide an unique advantage over many of his collegues. Over his career, Mr. Kleweno has learned that an attorney needs to respect his clients no matter their position, and above all work hard and be honest, “your word is your bond”.
Mr. Kleweno received his Master of Arts in Taxation from New York University in 1974, his Bachelor of Laws from the University of Washington in 1960, and his Bachelor of Arts from Washington State University in 1957. He is a board member of the Community Health Centers of King County and a former president of the Kent Chamber of Commerce, the Kent Rotary Club, and the South King County Bar Association.
