Mr. Willis is a highly accomplished trial lawyer who has been practicing law for the past 25 years. Throughout his illustrious career, Mr. Willis has represented boat manufacturers, crane and hoist companies, construction contractors, brokers, and financial and non-profit institutions in litigation nationwide. He has assisted these clients with their commercial disputes, medical malpractice, construction, product liability, commercial litigation, insurance defense and public entity defense, and has tried more than 100 jury trials to verdict.

Mr. Willis established the law firm in August 2012 and has watched it gain a solid reputation for its stellar products and services. Prior to starting The Willis Law Group PLLC, Mr. Willis gained experience leading firms. He was the section head of the civil defense section at a major Texas litigation firm, served as managing partner of a firm that, under his leadership, earned “Construction Law Firm of the Year in Texas,” and “Insurance & Reinsurance Law Firm of the Year in Texas” by Corporate INTL magazine, and was on the executive committee of a 250-man statewide litigation firm.

For his exceptional work in the industry, Mr. Willis has been selected for six consecutive years as a Texas Super Lawyers by Texas Monthly and Law & Politics Magazines. He is the author of “Corporate Justice: Fight Back In the Court Room and Save Your Company,” published in December 2006, and often shares his knowledge and experience through hosting seminars on wrongful death, survival claims, ethical considerations for adjusters, construction, contract termination and subcontractors, bad faith, what juries really think, appropriate use of expert witnesses and more.

Mr. Willis earned a JD through the Thurgood Marshall School of Law at Texas Southern University and a bachelor’s degree at the same university. He is licensed to practice law in Texas, Oklahoma and Louisiana, is AV-Rated by Martindale-Hubbell, is a certified continuing education provider through the Texas Department of Insurance, and is board certified in personal injury and trial law through the Texas Board of Legal Specialization. To keep current in his field, Mr. Willis is a member of the Oklahoma Bar Association, Arkansas Bar Association, and American Board of Trial Advocates.
